(Title is meant to be said in the "soup nazi" tone of voice...)
Well, I don't have any pictures of this weekend. It was mostly chores and catch up. Although,
Ron and I did continue our new hobby of cooking on Sunday. Ron made the yummy salmon with mushroom sauce, I made the baby red roasted potatoes, and we both made the zuchini/squash, and carrots. We've learned that we don't much like leftovers, but we haven't quite figured out how to cook "small" yet... so we try and have friends over to help consume. So far it has mostly been Ron's Brother, Aaron, and his wife (Megan), and their son (Ryan). The dinners have been turning out pretty good, so we're starting to branch out. Yesterday we invited Aaron and Megan, AND Wendel and Ashley. I was pleasantly surprised when they accepted our invitation. They travelled two hours one way! It was so nice. We had 7 people! Ryan didn't eat much, but definitely kept us entertained. It was a fun evening just sitting around, chatting, and eating. At the end, I decided to try and make york peppermint patty shakes, with no previous practice.... big mistake. I won't go into details, but let's just say that smoke-flavored shakes is not fun for anyone.... I'll just stick to smoothies (I've had LOTS of practice with those!). They're probably healthier, too.
For my QOTD, I'm going to borrow Ashley's:
"Above all else, it is about leaving a mark that I existed: I was here. I was hungry. I was defeated. I was happy. I was sad. I was in love. I was afraid. I was hopeful. I had an idea and I had a good purpose and that's why I made works of art." - Felix Gonzalez-Torres
Sounds like you made quite a delicious meal. YUM. BTW, when I saw your RSS feed with the title, I even read it in the soup nazi voice WITHOUT your que! Good title :)

ReplyDeleteMan, you guys do so many fun things. I am jealous of all the cool places you go. I keep thinking that someday JR and I will come up and stay with you guys for a week up at your property-without the kids. At this point, that won't be happening for at least 20 years. Hey, by that time, maybey JR and I will finally have our first house. Take care and keep posting!
