Labor Day on the Hood Canal

We decided to head up to Brinnon for Labor Day and stay at the Harbor House B&B. The other room was also available, so we invited the Alfaro's to come with us. It was a great weekend!

When we went to Port Townsend, we headed to Fort Worden State Park. They have a great beach there and a fabulous discovery center for kids. They have little tide pools set up for kids to touch and feel. Connor and Lucas loved it!

Connor was doing a little dance in front of the octopus. they were playing music, so how could he help it... :)

finding treasure in the sand was not Connor's favorite. He didn't like the texture of sand. Lucas had no problem with it...

Bobby and Lucas (Javier's in back).

Father and son looking at the sea life.

What's the pouty lip for? Probably the icecream....

On the beach ...

the boys!

Still doesn't like the sand....

It turned out to be a beautiful day that afternoon -- warm and sunny!

Orchestrating the shot is never easy.... :)

Javier and Bobby went clamming on the Dosewalips, and brought home some tasty morsels. They taught us how to cook them, and they are yummy! We also pulled some oysters off of our beach and had a bonfire on the beach to cook them. They were tasty too.

Maybe we could make this a yearly tradition. :)
